Word search for seniors

For many people the word search is the familiar puzzle from the booklet. On BreinPlezier you play it calmly on your tablet or computer, with a special Large print mode: extra large letter squares, short words and familiar topics. No more small print.

Made to be easy to read and tap

A real large print mode

Choose Large print and the letter squares become extra generous (larger than at any other level), with a smaller grid and shorter words. Ideal when small print gets tiring.

Two taps, no dragging

You tap the first and last letter of a word — no dragging across the screen. That works predictably, even with less steady hands.

Calm and clear

High contrast, clear marking of found words and a word list that gets neatly crossed off. No flashing distractions around it.

No time pressure

The clock only counts for those who enjoy it. There is no countdown and no 'game over' — a puzzle may happily rest for a day.

Why word searches make such a nice habit

Searching for words draws on your feel for language and your attention: you scan letters, recognise patterns and keep track of the words you already have. Familiar enough to relax, active enough to stay engaged.

Familiar and accessible

Everyone knows the word search. There are no rules to learn: you can start right away, at the level that suits you.

Language keeps you engaged

Familiar words about animals, food or travel often bring up memories and conversation — nice to do together over a cup of coffee.

A small daily ritual

The daily puzzle gives the day a fixed moment, and the streak counter makes it extra fun to come back tomorrow.

Frequently asked questions

How large are the letters in large print mode?

The letter squares are then well over a centimetre on an average tablet screen — clearly larger than in a puzzle booklet. The grid stays compact (8 by 8) so everything fits clearly on screen.

I find dragging on a tablet difficult. Is it needed?

No. You select a word with two separate taps: first its first letter, then its last. Tapping something by accident does no harm — there is no penalty and nothing gets lost.

Which topics are there?

Six familiar topics: animals, food & drink, travel, nature, sports & games and countries. In the daily puzzle the topic rotates by itself each day.

What does it cost?

Nothing. The word search is free, without an account and without hidden costs — like every puzzle on BreinPlezier.

Is it safe — what happens with my data?

You puzzle without an account and without filling anything in. Only your daily puzzle streak is stored on your own device; no game data is sent to a server.
